Staten Island, N.Y. — Today, Richmond County District Attorney Michael E. McMahon announced the launch of the “Dream It. Be It” Program with Soroptimist International of Staten Island. "Dream It. Be It" is a career support program for young women that aims to equip them with the necessary tools to achieve education and career goals. It provides girls with access to professional role models, career education and resources to live their dreams. Career support includes help and assistance to pursue an occupation that will offer opportunities for long-term success.

District Attorney Michael E. McMahon said,Equipping young women with the tools they need to succeed is essential for them to overcome different obstacles in their lives and find the pathway to a bright future. That is why I am proud to join our partners at Soroptimist International of Staten Island to announce the “Dream It. Be It” program, providing girls with education and career support to assist them in achieving their goals while staying safe and healthy. I encourage Staten Islanders to join us and take advantage of this helpful program, as we continue working tirelessly to always improve the lives of others.”

Dawn Reid-Green, President elect, Soroptimist International of Staten Island said, “We are really excited to partner with the Richmond County District Attorney’s office in offering this mentoring program to high school girls. We acknowledge that it takes a Village to help our children succeed and have a positive impact on their lives. This signature Soroptimist program and curriculum provides that support."

The 7-week program is free and open to all Staten Island teenage girls looking to prepare for their professional future. The virtual sessions are set to start in the Spring.
