2020 Spring Conference Awards

This past week was the first ever VIRTUAL North Atlantic Region (NAR) Spring Conference. Our club was recognized with the following awards:

Unsung Hero Award: Each year the current president picks one member who has gone above and beyond without expecting or asking for recognition, credit, or praise. Our club recipient this year is Lauren Aquino. She has taken on our website and social media voluntarily and is very grateful the club has entrusted her with this responsibility

Soroptimists Celebrating Success Awards: Soroptimists Celebrating Success Awards recognize outstanding club projects that improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment or promotes Soroptimist as an organization that improves the lives of women and girls. These awards recognize the best practices of Soroptimist clubs in each of the four pillar areas supporting the SIA strategic plan: fundraising, membership, program and public awareness.

Membership: This category recognizes creative and innovative club recruitment and retention efforts that increases the number of members and/or enhances the club membership experience.

Our club was recognized for our membership recruitment and retention efforts this past year.

Newsletter: We were recognized for our outstanding newsletters. Special thanks goes to Rosemary DeFiglio for all of her hard work! Check out all our newsletters here.

Peace Begins at Home Grant: The NAR provides grants to support clubs involved with domestic violence and/or Human Trafficking initiatives. This year we were awarded with a grant to further our work with Amethyst House. Special thanks to Carol Lundrigan for writing the proposal that secured us this grant.

Congratulations to the entire club for receiving recognition for all the hard work we've done this past year. Here's to an even better year to come!
